Daallo Mountain Escarpment

Rising over 1,700 metres above sea level, the Daallo escarpment is Somaliland's lush green jewel — a dramatic cliff face draped in ancient juniper forest and frankincense trees where the highlands plunge toward the Gulf of Aden. Trekkers follow misty trails through Somaliland's only montane forest, encountering endemic birds, Speke's gazelle, and jaw-dropping panoramic views of the coastal plains far below. The area near Erigavo is also the gateway to Cal Madow, the highest peak in Somaliland.
